Preparing people to teach God’s Word to the World
Teaching to Teach is dedicated to teaching people how to study Scripture and teach God’s Word to others. After teaching the Bible for many years, I (Karen) realized that there was a need to teach people (future teachers) how to prepare and teach the Word of God. I was fortunate to have learned how to study God’s Word through several excellent avenues such as Kay Arthur with Precept Ministries and Dr. Wayne Barber, who was my pastor for several years. Other ministries also poured God’s Word into me. I desire to continue teaching Bible Studies (presently on Zoom internationally once a week as well as in person with women once a week). Additionally, I want to teach others how to study and teach Scripture. Thus, Teaching to Teach Conferences were developed.
The content of our Conference is three pronged:
1. How to self study Scripture with few or many resources. Using the Bible as the main resource, we teach how to adequately self study in order to write and deliver Bible lessons and presentations.
2. How to compose lessons according to the Teaching to Teach format for enhanced learning. This format is designed for optimal understanding of Scripture and retention of principles and truths found in Scripture. Emphasis is put on interactive learning, understanding the meanings as well as facts in Scripture and application of the truths to daily living. Conference participants will be taught how to take their self study information and compose either a topical or passage lesson. They will also be provided with a pre-written lesson and be guided through the content to see how study notes become a part of the lesson content.
3. How to present, teach, lead a lesson or presentation. Participants will be taught how to teach an interactive lesson, learn how and where to add cross references, illustrations, examples, visuals as well as how to introduce and close a lesson. They will understand how to encourage discussion, guide discussion and draw conclusions from discussion.
Teaching to Teach Conferences are hosted by churches, ministries and other organizations and are attended by people who desire to study and teach the Bible. After attending the conference, each participant will receive several pre-written lessons (written by our instructors) so the attendees can begin teaching. These pre-written lessons also provide a guide for their future lesson writing.
Contact us at Teaching to Teach to schedule a Conference or to learn more about the Conferences. There is no fee except travel expenses if required and participant materials cost. We will be glad to answer any questions you might have. Blessings to you as we together serve our Lord.
